  • What happens if I cancel a booking?

Guests.

If you cancel your coworking session more than 3 hours before its start time, you will be credited back of the hours you booked. Between 2 and 3 hours before the booking start time, 50% of the hours cancelled will be credited back to you, 50% back to the host. For cancellations less than 2 hours before start time, there’s no refund except under specific circumstances as indicated in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

Hosts.

We may waive the first cancellation fee. After that, the following fee will be deducted from your first payout after a cancellation. The amount deducted will depend on how much ahead of the booking start time you cancelled. If it’s more than 3 hours in advance, $10 will be deducted from your next payout. If it’s less than 3 hours, $20 will be deducted from your next payout.

  • What if I have a good excuse to cancel?

In rare instances, it may be necessary to cancel a coworking session  under short notice due to extenuating circumstances. The different situations covered are indicated in the “Excused Cancellation” section in our Cancellation and Refund Policy.

  • Does my booking need to be approved by the Host?

Nope! Because you can only book on times when a host is available, your request is automatically approved! It may occasionally happen that the host has to cancel under extenuating circumstances. We do our best to find you an other good Hive close-by when that occurs!

  • How do I enter a Hive?

A Hive is the home of your Host! We share information around access once you made your booking. You will be able to directly reach out to the Host too.

  • What if I booked for a couple of hours but I want to extend the check-out time?

First, you should make sure there is still a seat available at the Hive you want for the hours you need to add. If not, you may want to check other Hives nearby.

If still available and if more than 2 hours in advance, you can directly reserve your seat online.

If less than 2 hours in advance, you should contact the Host directly to get his approval and then book online. If the system doesn’t allow you to do so, reach out to host@hiven.me.

  • How do I report an issue?

We provide full customer support! Reach out to team@hiven.me for general inquiries, legal@hiven.me for legal inquiries or host@hiven.me for any host-specific questions.

  • Can I have a meeting at a Hive?

A Hive is a coworking opportunity, for local professionals to share ressources and work more productively. You might take calls in separate phone call areas (if declared in the list of “amenities” of the Hive) but you may not invite an individual who is not a hiven member, nor disrupt other professionals sharing the space with you. If you are a team, and all your team members are hiven members, then you may book all the seats available at a Hive, after asking the host if they are okay in you working as a team in their Hive. The host is entitled to decline your request.

  • How do I know the WiFi will be good?

Yes! It is part of our main requirement for hosts to be part of the hiven community. If you experience poor internet connection at a Hive, please kindly let the host know and let us know directly at team@hiven.me .

  • What if I can’t get in touch with my host?

Here are a few suggested steps:

    • Give your host a little time to respond: not everyone is tech-savvy!
    • Send a text and/or email: you received these information on your booking notifications.

  • If you still can’t reach your host, reach out to us at team@hiven.me and we’ll do our best to solve this issue!

  • What if a host informs me that the Hive I already booked is unavailable?

This is what we called a host-initiated cancellation! You should let us know at team@hiven.me so that we credit back your hours and find another Hive close by for you.

  • Can I leave a review?

Reviews are strongly encouraged! Let the hiven community know about your coworking experience, how much you liked the space, how good the amenities provided were, and how easy communication was with your host. They help hiven ensure a high-quality service and build a trusted community of local professionals. If you are a guest, you can leave a review and rating of the Hive after your booking. If you are a host, you can leave a review directly on your guest profile. All reviews have to be approved by hiven before being publicly published.

  • Should I pay when I arrive?

Nope. We have a secured payment system and manage bookings for all members to reduce frictions and ensure the best user experience. Your membership gives you access to all Hives for a certain amount of hours monthly according to the plan you subscribed for, and some Hives might be considered premium and consume more hours than standard Hives. It is indicated on the Hive profile if that’s the case. Add-ons will be added to your next monthly bill. We kindly ask both the host and the guest to confirm quantity and time when it happens.

  • Can I bring someone with me?

Sorry we don’t allow non-members to cowork at a Hive, except if it’s a free trial. Even in the case of a free trial, this person has to register on hiven to be able to book the same time slot than you at a Hive. This is to ensure that hiven remains a trusted community of local professionals.

  • Can I bring my pet?

Not without the explicit consent of your Host. Not everyone is comfortable with pets, please be respectful of that!

  • Can I book multiple days in a row? or every week?

Yes you are free to come back to a Hive you like, and reserve your seat on a regular basis.

  • If I book regularly at a Hive, can I leave my personal items in the space overnight?

You need to see directly with your host. Keep in mind, neither hiven nor the Host are liable for items left in a Hive after the end of your coworking session.

  • Can I stay overnight?

Nope! hiven is not an overnight rental platform, we share coworking opportunities at homes during the day only.

  • Can I nap at a Hive?

We are all tempted to get a nap in between two hard work sessions, right? hiven is about sharing spaces for work though, not sleep. It is not allowed in general, however, a host might decide to include this possibility in their Host Policy,.

  • Can I move and rearrange the furniture?

Funny idea… besides moving a chair to work better, you should not move anything without a proper reason and your host’s prior consent. A Hive is usually the private home of your host, please respect it as it was yours.

  • Can I take photos and videos in the Hive?

Not without your Host’s explicit consent. In general, you may not be allowed to take any picture or video of the Hive if you are not from hiven’s team.

How does the free trial work?

Your trial date begins upon signup. You then have 2 weeks to use your free hours on the platform.
We recommend you pin our page on your phone! You’ll be able to see and book all the coworking Hives nearby. Pick one, reserve a timeslot and get work done around nice people. Remember to respect your check out times or book more hours on the website.

Do I have to commit to pay if I get the free trial?

Nope. No credit cards, no charges. Just enjoy! The free trial can be used only once per person.

Which pass should I choose?

It depends on how many hours you’d like to cowork each month! It’s incredibly flexible for you to adapt your pass to your current schedule. The hours bought expire after a month, except for the Royal Bees with a 80hrs pass who can rollover their hours over the next 3 months after which they would expire. The 25hrs and 80hrs passes automatically renew each month. We will send you reminders in case you would like to opt out.

Can I be both a guest and a host?

Yes! Please sign up as a host and our team will be shortly in touch.
